Our Purpose
The Sleep Friends community brings together people navigating sleep challenges — parents, shift workers, CPAP users, and anyone seeking better rest — alongside the expertise of Dr. Anne Marie Morse. Our subgroups exist so you never have to face sleep difficulties alone. These guidelines define how we keep that space supportive and trustworthy for everyone.
How to Participate
- Share your experience. Your story may be exactly what another member needs to hear.
- Ask questions openly. There are no "silly" sleep questions here.
- Listen as much as you share. Not every post needs a reply — sometimes presence is enough.
- Stay on topic. Keep posts relevant to the subgroup's focus so members can find what they need.
- Use the "Ask Dr. Morse" channel for clinical questions you'd like Dr. Morse to answer directly.
What's Not Allowed
- Medical advice. Do not diagnose, prescribe, or tell another member to start or stop a treatment. Share what worked for you, but frame it as personal experience — not clinical instruction.
- Harassment or personal attacks. Targeted insults, bullying, or persistent unwelcome contact will result in removal.
- Misinformation. Deliberately sharing disproven or dangerous health claims is not permitted.
- Promotion and spam. Do not use subgroups to sell products, recruit, or drive traffic to external sites.
- Sharing private information. Never post another member's personal details, health information, or private messages outside the group.
- Hate speech or discrimination. Racism, sexism, ableism, and bigotry of any kind have no place here.
Moderation Standards
Dr. Morse and the DAMM Good Sleep team moderate subgroups to uphold these guidelines. Here's how moderation works:
- Post visibility. New subgroup posts are visible by default. Moderators may hide posts that violate these guidelines.
- Pinned posts. Moderators can pin official guidance, resources, or announcements to the top of a subgroup.
- Subgroup creation. Member-created subgroups are reviewed and approved before they become visible to the community.
- Graduated response. First violations typically receive a private reminder. Repeated or serious violations may result in post removal, subgroup suspension, or removal from the community.
- Appeals. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, email contact@dammgoodsleep.com and we will review it.
How to Report a Concern
If you see a post or message that violates these guidelines, email contact@dammgoodsleep.com with the subgroup name and a description of the issue. Our team reviews every report, and you can expect a response within two business days. For urgent safety concerns, include "URGENT" in the subject line.
A Living Document
As the community grows, we may update these guidelines. Significant changes will be announced within the subgroups and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. By participating in Sleep Friends, you agree to these standards and help keep this a place where everyone can find rest — and support.
